Hello everybody!

The Super Bowl is just days away and we’d like to help you if you still haven’t decided on your food selection for the party you’re having or on what to take to the party you’re going to!

Any large orders placed today or tomorrow will receive 15% off our already discounted catering prices! We will also be able to guarantee delivery outside of our usual “zone” (excuse the pun) if you plan ahead with us. So if you’ve been getting these emails and lamenting the fact that you’re just too far, here’s your chance!

All of our food is great for sharing but we know what game day is all about and we won’t disappoint with our popular wings and large choice of sauces. Our catering prices and choices are here and don’t forget, if you let us know your order by tomorrow, you’ll get 15% off!

Thank you for the support during our fundraising period — we were impressed by the turnout and amount of positive feedback we recieved. Again, thanks to everyone that helped Haiti.

Just FYI, we donated the funds to Yele.

Helping Haiti

Unless you live under a rock or despise The Internets, you’ve surely heard of the tragedy in Haiti. Though there are numerous ways to help right now — texting, local volunteering, online donations — the four of us wanted to do our first globally good deed as proprietors.

Between now and Sunday’s close (that’s 2:30am Monday morning technically) we’ll be donating 5% of sales to Haitian relief. We haven’t picked which fund so if you know a good one let us know, but we’re going to find one that minimizes the administrative overhead so more money goes directly to the people that need it.

5% of sales. Not “a portion of the proceeds” or “5% of profits” or some other way to water down a charitable cause. 5% of sales. If you buy a $6.85 calzone, we donate $0.34 cents. Simple as that.

This is going on from now until Sunday 1/17. Thanks for your support.

Holiday Orders

We are now taking orders for any holiday parties or events that you may have between now and New Year’s Eve/Day. We”ll build a menu around what you need and the zones you prefer; also, don’t forget about our breadstix, cheesestix, wings and dunkers.

Lastly, we are testing out our mini zones (2 mini zones = 1 full size zone). This may be a great alternative for those of you who want to provide some food but don’t want to stuff the face of your guests.

Please email us at dpd@dpdoughphilly.com or call us at 215-796-9809 with your request.

Thanks!

From the D.P. Dough Philly team!

To show that we are the celebratory kind, we will be offering the following shenanigans:

1. Mary, as a zombie, will be rising from the dead to take your orders from open until 5 pm, at which point she must return to the crypt. After that, don’t be scared of ordering with our black cat, Leanne. Crossing her path will bring you nothing but good fortune - or just delicious food, which is good too.

2. Every order will come with a treat! If you’re eating in or taking out, you can pick out a “good one”, which according to Mike is defined by being chocolate. However, if you’re ordering delivery, you’ll probably get something un-meltable like hard candy since we’re sure you’d prefer getting your food hot.

3. We’ll be offering a free personal sized breadstix order with the purchase of any calzone and a soda. This special applies to all orders (eat in, take out, delivery, and Campus Food).

Have a very safe and happy Halloween everybody!

Specials!

We have some new developments for you: specials and catering.

Since you’ve probably had our product there’s no need for me to sell you on how great these zones are for groups, thus I’m just going to ask that you give us 24hrs notice so we can staff accordingly for your large order. DP Dough + World Series = awesome :)

As for specials, we’re still in the process of nailing down our internal list but we have settled on some lunch ones for walk-ins:

Monday: Zone & Soda for $6.50 or 12 Wings & Soda for $8.00
Tuesday: 3 zones and 3 sodas for $18.00
Wednesday: 1 Cheestix, 0.5lbs of Dunkers, & 2 Sodas for $11.00
Thursday: 18 Wings & 2 Sodas for $12.00

Thanks,
Jason

We’re coming up on our second week of being open, and one thing that we are really loving is all the awesome people we’re making friends with. Here’s a quick shout out back at a few of these friends.

Shout out to future Pulitzer prize winning journalist Morgan of Underthebutton.com and her future best selling novelist friend, Stephanie. Morgan and Stephanie hung out with us the other night at the store and did an awesome article called “Getting in the Zone” on Under The Button. You can check out the article here. Thanks girls!

Shout out to big time eating competition champion, Bijan N. Rumor has it that Bijan won a burrito eating contest at big chain store all while rocking a DP Dough t-shirt and hat, and then proceeded to give us a shout out during his victory speech! You sir, are the man. If you have some photos from the event, send them over and well put them up on the blog.

Thanks to everyone that came out this weekend. We had people from all over PA and NJ try our zones. From long time DP Dough fans (Delaware County customers, we fixed those wobbly tables!) to newbies who couldn’t get enough (TKE, thanks for your 6 different orders last night), we had a pretty good turnout. It was satisfying to know that we didn’t ruin the DP Dough tradition and more importantly, we might be adding to it.

We only had a few bites on our specials (2s for $22 and the End Zone special) so it’s evident that we need to buildup our internet base for our spur of the moment offers and we made a few zones incorrectly (Sorry Lauren and Hesh!), but all in all we’re thrilled with the entirety of the weekend. We’ll continue to work on the kinks every day so that what you order, that what you expect, is what you get.

Thanks again to everyone that came out and a future thanks to those that will this weekend :) For our specials, it’s best to follow us on twitter (which wasn’t the rage 1.5 years ago when we started this blog) to get the specials. www.twitter.com/dpdoughphilly

2s for 22

Kickin’ off our first Sunday we’re offering 12 wings, 2 zones, and 2 cokes for $22. We tried to come up with a wittier, football inspired name for it (safety special, 2 pt conversion, etc) but 2s for 22 is the best we could do.

Thanks!
