Unless you live under a rock or despise The Internets, you’ve surely heard of the tragedy in Haiti. Though there are numerous ways to help right now — texting, local volunteering, online donations — the four of us wanted to do our first globally good deed as proprietors.
Between now and Sunday’s close (that’s 2:30am Monday morning technically) we’ll be donating 5% of sales to Haitian relief. We haven’t picked which fund so if you know a good one let us know, but we’re going to find one that minimizes the administrative overhead so more money goes directly to the people that need it.
5% of sales. Not “a portion of the proceeds” or “5% of profits” or some other way to water down a charitable cause. 5% of sales. If you buy a $6.85 calzone, we donate $0.34 cents. Simple as that.
This is going on from now until Sunday 1/17. Thanks for your support.
